Until recently I never knew what a neti pot was for. I would see one in the store and cringe. I imagined that you filled it with steaming water put a towel over your head and held your head above the steaming neti pot and the mucus would drain out of your nose. That sounds pretty disgusting right? Well I was wrong and while I have not tried a neti pot I have tried using a blue ball syringe.
I just took a warm shower and used a blue ball syringe with a salt water mix and I feel slightly more human now. The first time I tried this I was nervous and I thought it would feel like accidentally breathing in pool water through your nose with the coughing and gagging and burning.
This was not the case, it did feel a little weird the first time but not uncomfortable. I can finally breathe through my nose and I am not grabbing for the tissue every five seconds. Also my ears are less sensitive and my head no longer hurts as terrifyingly bad as it did 2 hours ago.
Also watch the video in its entirety, if you make the "k" sound while doing the nasal irrigation the solution comes out of your nose completely with none going in your mouth or down your throat.

I am glad that made you feel better.
hey there im glad you feel better.......i just came by to say hi....all the best to you
glad you feel better... video and all the idea still freaks me out a little...
Yeah neti freaks you out until you actually do it, however the benefits vastly out weigh the ick factor and you end up enjoying it. I used a small tea pot for a while then I actually broke down and got a neti pot which worked much better! The ball syringe sounds like a great alternative!
I love neti pots. They rock!
Glad you're feeling slightly better.
I love my neti pot. I can keep it from going down my throat just by breathing out my mouth but my husband can't maybe I can get him to try this again with the K sound thing.
Neti pot is the best product which helps to avoid sinus problem. I love my neti pot. All the best.
